Hello!
I know what you're thinking: "If I'm hearing from Aaron, it must be either summertime or New Year's."
And you're not wrong. I update my newsletter sparingly. Impromptu poll: Would you like to hear from me more than two or three times a year? I’m not saying I’d go weekly or anything, but I’m willing to touch base more often if you’d like. Let me know in the comments. Otherwise, I’ll keep things as is.
So, where were we…
In case you haven’t heard, I had issue #2 of Jan The Vagabond drop in February! It’s pretty special to me as I introduced two new characters, Randall the Troubadour and The Wizard, Mark, created in memory of my dad and father-in-law, respectively, who passed in 2021.
But the issue is not sad! No, it’s the same silliness one can expect upon visiting Koduri. If you just want to check out the digital comic, you can snag a copy here. If you'd rather have a physical copy of the floppy (I only do a run of 50), any left are here.
And speaking of Jan, check this out:
That trailer is for a comic strip I started for Jan, serving as a prequel to when the comic book starts and made up of all the nutty adventures young Jan got up to before finally finding his best friend, the malevolent Gertrude. I’m shooting for a Sunday comics feel here, and it’s not as polished as the comic, but it’s been fun. My patrons get it on Sundays on my Patreon page, but everyone else can read it on Tuesdays and Thursdays on my Instagram or Facebook page.
In other comic book news, Daniel Moler, Jeremy Bohannon, and I are cranking away at
Vision Tales #1. Will you be able to buy it this year? I don’t know, but that time is edging ever closer! Let me tell you, of the finished pages I’ve seen? It will be worth the wait. Daniel and Jeremy are crushing the art, and there will even be a pin-up by Dusty Dean! It’s going to be a thing of beauty.
In other news, Outland Entertainment is publishing another short story of mine in I’ll Kill You Last, an anthology edited and curated once again by Cullen Bunn. This time out, the vibe is 80s action flicks meets horror. Think cheesy one-liners, colossal explosions, and sleek car chases mixed with all the things that go bump in the night. Look for Kickstarter info soon because it was a great time!
Besides that, my creative time entirely belongs to Monsters in the Park. This book will be a mons—no, I won’t do that pun. It’s too easy. Suffice it to say, if you’re a fan of The Timberhaven Chronicles, I’d take the bet that you’ll be happy with this outing, too. If you thought Michael Gideon had his hands full in Waking The Weaver, young Juniper Soot will introduce you to an even more mind-blowing story!
Until next time,
A.C.
